Vision of Loveliness
‘Vision Of Loveliness’ bridal bouquet
The opportunity to create some unique arrangements was welcomed when Nicole asked me to do the flowers for her grand event on September 27 in 2008. It was actually her wedding coordinator Paolina from As You Wish Events who initially contacted me to arrange an appointment for her client. I was doubly blessed in meeting them both for the first time when they came for the consultation, along with Nicole’s sister. I soon learned that Nicole was frustrated with previous visits to other florists who were reluctant to comply with her requests, saying that her unusual color palette and design ideas were not in keeping with the current trends & they simply didn’t care to do them. I can’t imagine ever conveying that to a client!

A little cutey with her pretty halo
As I listened to Nicole explain her floral vision, there was absolutely nothing difficult or unreasonable in what she wanted done. Sure it was a bit different, but it was unique to her taste. And that’s what matters. So instead of turning her away, I used a far more professional approach and offered her some suggestions & thoughts that would unify her color choices & ideas. Thankfully she was open to what I offered, & I gained a delightful client who was a pleasure to work with every step of the way. Best of all I had a happy and appreciative bride who was able to enjoy exceptional compositions that were tastefully arranged with the colors and style that she really wanted, AND which turned out even better than she envisioned from the picture in a magazine. I believe the results speak for themselves as you look at the beautiful images of her and Troy’s special day – truly a vision of loveliness!

Beautiful Nicole with her ‘Vision Of Loveliness’ bouquet

I worked with Nicole’s color palette of burgundy, white, dusty rose, sage green and navy blue and created her one-of-a-kind bouquet with the soft pink roses, wonderfully scented stock, sedum, toad lilies (funny name, but adorable little blooms), lemon leaf and variegated ivy. The lighter blue and white bead clusters added some sparkle, while trails of ivy & sheer ribbons in navy and ivory flowed from the bouquet to create a nice cascade effect.

One of the lovely bridesmaids. The girls carried smaller versions of Nicole’s bouquet, but without the beads and trailing ribbons. To bring in the navy blue among the fresh blooms, I nested ‘florets’ made from the same ribbon that embellished the bouquet handles. Viola, it worked perfectly!

In addition to serving Nicole & Troy, I had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Paolina, director of As You Wish Events. I was very impressed with her expertise and genuine care in serving her clients. I now have the ongoing privilege of networking with her.
