Lavender Seduction

A sweet couple in their sweet vintage ride!
My first meeting with Christine was such a delight and we were so on the same page about her flowers. She and her fiance, Jason, were planning a vintage theme for their wedding on May 30, 2009, and she wanted her flowers to have nostalgic flare. Because fragrance was also important, dried lavender and freesias were the perfect choices to achieve those special aromatic qualities that will always remind Christine of her wedding day. And she luuuvs speedwells (aka veronica), so they were a ’must have’ in her purple & white ensamble.

Christine’s ‘Lavender Seduction‘ bouquet held white & purple freesias, lavender spider mums, purple lisianthus for a rose-like touch, and her beloved purple speedwells (veronica) . A silver wire collar with white pearls surrounded the blooms, while the handle treatment of black & white ribbons matched her white gown with black detailing.
I sensed a real romantic spirit in Christine, and when I met Jason just days before the wedding, I could see why she adored him. He instantly impressed me with his warmth and charm, and was clearly smitten with his bride-to-be. So it was easy for me to be excited for this very nice couple, and I was pleasantly rewarded in serving them on that beautiful sunny afternoon in May at St. Andrew’s United, a quaint heritage church. It was the ideal place for them because of it’s vintage appeal and setting.
This is one of my favorite photos of the lovely Christine

Fragrant white freesias, white cushion mums, dried lavenderand veronica made up the Maid Of Honor’s pretty little piece.
Christine & Jason booked my friend Robyn Strong to do their photography, the ’happy’ result of my referral. It’s always fun to ’share’ clients with Robyn and watch her work her magic behind the lens. And, as always, she achieved beautiful images for the couple to treasure for years to come.

A classy duo!

This nostalgic looking photo was taken at the Bedford House Restaurant in Ft. Langley - the venue for the intimate reception

We wish Jason & Christine much joy & happiness in their journey towards a long marriage of very fine vintage!

Wow Barb! This is the first time I am seeing this and I am in awe. So sweet. It brought me right back to that very lovely vintage day. Everything was perfect. My beautiful bouquet has been preserved by Rosie on your recommendation, and is now a “frame” around the photo you see above in a beautiful shadow box. It is on display in our home and I gaze at it often with nostalgic memories of our special day. I only wish I could hold that gorgeous bouquet again in my hands…it had the most delicate & sweet aromas.
Wishing you much love,
Christine Barham
Christine, I’m so glad you found the feature page of you & Jason. I too have fond memories of my own as I served you. It really was a special time and I will always be grateful for the opportunity I had to work with you in achieving some of your special mementos!
