Honeydew

I did a couple of weddings this season with the unique color combinations of white, teal blue, and apple or bright green. Jenn was my first bride to choose this palette for her event, and to be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first of how the blue & green shades would look together. But she chose well and the fresh white and green flowers looked really nice against the bridesmaids teal blue dresses.  Everything turned out beautifully and my bride was happy with the results. Yea, mission accomplished!

I think of honeydew melons when I look at these bouquets, so that’s what I call this refreshing set of blooms. Jenn’s hand tie of green spider mums, white hydrangea and freesias complimented her to a T, while small rhinestones rested in several of the blooms throughout. The bridesmaids had kermit mums added to their posies, and small teal blue pins nested in a few of the kermits and along the white and green bindings.

Jenn and Derek’s marriage ceremony took place in a church setting on August 8 (2009), followed by the reception at the Abbotsford Legacy Sports facility. To my pleasant surprise there’s a very nice, spacious hall upstairs with large windows around most of the room. For the centerpieces, I had suggested usingblume boxes which Jenn purchased on line and brought to me assembled and embellished with teal blue ribbon. All I had to do was fill  them with the white hydrangeas, kermit mums and whisps of bear grass. I also placed them for her and with the tea lights, viola, a wonderful ambiance it turned out to be.

‘Blume’ boxes full!

While at the church getting everyone ‘flowered up’, I entered the ’bride’s room’ and was blown away to see how Jenn had transformed from a very pretty young woman into an absolutely gorgeous bride! She hardly looked like the same person I had seen just days before. And her mom -  same thing – wow! The apple did not fall far from the tree there, that’s for sure.
