Caribbean Sunshine

Blonde & beautiful Lisa was born in Mandeville, Jamaica. I met her for the first time when she came for her floral consult. I met her fiance, Dustyn, for the first time when he was a newborn because it just so happens that I used to work for the doctor who delivered him & his twin. Now years later, after bumping into his mom & chatting it up with her about my change in profession, she referred the engaged couple to me for their wedding flowers. I thought that was pretty cool! Of course I eagerly accepted the job to design for them, hoping that my past connection to Dustyn’s family would make the experience a bit extra special. And it was!

Glorious sunshine greeted the morning of the wedding and blessed the day with it’s perfect warmth, almost as if Jamaica blew in for the festivities. Except the ocean was replaced by surrounding mountains & trees – the setting for the ceremony & reception at Lisa’s parent’s acreage. Lisa appropriately chose flowers in warm & bright tropical shades of yellow, peach,& coral, reminiscent of her early years growing up in the sunny Caribbean. Rich tones of  mocha brown rounded out her colour palette, along with accents of ivory. And wow, did she ever look stunning!

Lisa’s tear drop cascade comprised of luscious cherry brandy roses, warm coral   yellow  spray roses, along with lemon yellow Asiatic lilies & a few white mini callas for an added tropical touch. The hairpiece Lisa wore for the reception was a match to the flowers in Dustyn’s boutonniere.

I also got to meet Lisa & Dustyn’s adorable son, Cole.  The wee boutonniere I fashioned for the blonde little tyke added to his cuteness!

My thanks to Lisa & Dustyn – a very sweet couple – for the pleasure that was mine in providing a bit of ‘Caribbean Sunshine’ on their very special day. Best wishes to them & their family which now includes a little brother to Cole – another adorable blonde.
